Rashid Zafar Khan , Rashid zafar khan son of ustad zafar ahmed khan ,belong to traditional and famous dilli gharana, he received the fortune of learning tabla from late ustad munnu khan saheb ,late ustad chamma khan sahib uastad shakeel ahmed khan, and also from the renowned table meastro late ustad latif ahmed khan saheb, of dilligharana. Rashid ji has won many accolades , awards and prizes for his contribution to the field of music. Recently he has also been awarded-The Best Artist of the Year-by-Bisat-e-yaara. Rashid ji has always charmed his audience all over India and Abroad through his performance.

He has performed as a Soloist and has also accompanied many great artiste of India including Ustad Abdul Haleem jaffer Khan, PadmaBhushan Pandit Debu Chaudhuri, Pandit GokulatsavaMaharaj, Padam Late Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan, Padamshree Late Ustad Sultan Khan, Pt. Ajay Pohanker, Usd. Mehmood Mirza, Usd. Rais Khan, Smt Kankana Bannerjee, Pt.Uma Shankar Mishra, Smt Kavita Seth &Ustad Saeed Zafar. Rashid ji has also performed in many reputed Music Festival of the country including Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan, Harballah Malhar Utsav Festival, Pt. Chaturlal Sangeet Sammelan, Ustad Chand Khan Music Festival, Spirit of Freedom Unity Concert, Pt Nikhil Bannerjee Music Festival, Second Global Literary Festival, Viraasat Festival (Dehradoon), amongst many others. Besides his performances in the sphere of Classical music, Rashid ji has also been a part of reputed World Music groups and Fusion bands like – Kalpavriksha-tarang-&-Sitars of India. He has inherited and also imbided the difficult grammar, discipline and subtleties of the rich legacy of the- DilliGharana- His table speaks The Boles produced by him are distinct and precise. The electrifying speed of his fingers combined with the traditional knowledge take his performance to another dimension. Through his painstaking practice and dedication, Rashid ji, today, has made a name for himself, both as a soloist and accompanist of repute Rashid ji is a graded artist of a National Television and Radio, Government of India and presently is also in the staff of the faculty of Music & fine Arts, University of Delhi, India.
