Sagar Gujrati

Staff Artist(Tabla)



Sagar Gujrati is a young tabla player of Benaras Gharana. He born in a gujrati musical family from Benaras. Where All is belonging to the haveli sangeet parampara. His father Sri Jamuna Ballabh Gujrati is very renowned artist of india in the field of Harmonium playing, along with this his uncle is very good Pakhawaj player.

Sagar gujrati started his musical journey in the age of 14 with very renowned artist and his guru Pt. Pundlik krishana Bhagwat (senior deciple of pt. Ishwar lal mishara and leter Padma Vibhushan Pt. Kishan Maharaj), which is still continuing. Sagar Gujrati has completed his masters in tabla playing from Banaras Hindu University in 2012 and he has got national scholarship from ministry of cultural, Govt. of India in 2013. Sagar Gujrati has performed in some prestigious music festivals of India. In 2016 he has performed in international music festival, Zeneva (Switzerland). His specialty is to sweet and aesthetically accompaniment with vocal according to the composition.

At present he is the Tabla Accompanist in Department of Music, Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi
